DIY OAPI trademark filing
Step 1: Login and select "New Cases" > "OAPI" > "Trademark" in the navigation bar on the left side.
Step 2: Complete the online application form; download Power of Attorney; upload scanned copy of the signed Power of Attorney; and pay by credit card.

Next steps:
- Upon payment, we will immediately prepare the OAPI trademark application for filing.
- We will send you proof of filing within three business days, and you can track the status of the application online.
- The OAPI trademark examiner may issue an examination report within 3 months of filing. You may instruct our agent to respond to the examination report (cost: from Euro 65).
- The trademark application is typically published in the OAPI Trademark Journal within 4 months of filing and lies open to opposition for 3 months. We will send you a copy of the publication.
- If the trademark application is opposed, we will notify you of the opposition by email and you will be able directly to engage the OAPI trademark attorney who we appointed to file the application. Alternatively, you could engage any other OAPI trademark attorney to deal with the opposition.
- If the trademark application is not opposed by a third party following publication, or if the opposition is resolved favourably, the trademark will be granted and the certificate issued. We expect to receive the trademark registration certificate within 6-12 months of filing. An electronic copy of the registration certificate will be emailed to you without charge, and you can (optionally) request the document to be couriered to you (cost: $110).
