How to file a Nigerian trademark:

We will email you a filing receipt and application number within a couple of days of filing.

Prosecution:

The Nigerian trademark examiner may issue an examination report within 1-3 months of filing. You may instruct our agent to respond to the examination report (cost: from US$70).

Nigerian trademarks are typically accepted within 1-8 weeks of filing.

Accepted trademarks are typically published within 12-15 months of filing and lie open to opposition for 2 months.

In the absence of opposition, the Nigerian trademark registration certificate should be issued within 2 years of filing.

Renewals:

Nigerian trademarks must be renewed within 7 years of the Nigerian filing date and every 14 years thereafter. Each renewal costs US$160, and is processed by the PayAnnuity patent renewal system.
